Doug Gottlieb: “At just 23 years old this has a dramatic effect on how we look at him as a player. I think he has a lot of maturing to do and he tried to cheat steps here. Is he really that good or was he using performance-enhancing drugs previously and only now got caught? He never offered up that this would have been to get back out on the field; he said it was for ringworm, which quite obviously was not. He’s 23 years old so it’s not like he was older and needed the extra time. I think he got caught cheating, that’s all and he didn’t cycle off quick enough. If it was to get back out on the field sooner it wouldn’t have been steroids, it would have been HGH. That’s just simply to get stronger, faster, work harder, whatever. I think it absolutely has to call into question anything he’s accomplished previously because then you’re operating under the assumption that he got caught only on the first time that he ever tried it and that seems hard for me to believe. To get caught in this era you gotta be a complete dope and a complete cheat and that’s what he appears to be.” (Full Audio Above)
Listen to Doug Gottlieb question whether Fernando Tatis Jr. has been using performance-enhancing drugs his entire career, as Doug believes Tatis’ 80-game PED suspension has to put into question everything he’s ever accomplished in his brief star-studded career.
Check out the audio above as Gottlieb details why it’s hard to believe that this was the first time Tatis ever tried to use PEDs.
