Colorado Buffaloes Head Football Coach Deion Sanders thinks the NIL system currently in place for college athletics is an inherently unfair system and Dan Patrick doesn’t disagree. Dan’s real concern is that the salary cap in college sports will only bring back the days of shady side deals with boosters and schools finding clandestine ways to compensate players outside the system.
Dan Patrick: “There is a salary cap but that doesn’t stop, you know, collectives or boosters from getting money. It’s just going to be under the table. It’ll be back to the way it was years ago when you paid people under the table. You got NIL but that doesn’t matter. You can pay through NIL. There’s way too many windows; way, way, way too many windows.”
