Jonas Knox and LaVar Arrington are in for Dan and the Danettes on this Memorial Day! They react to recent comments from Saquon Barkley on the Exciting Mics podcast, where he said the tush push wouldn't get nearly as much hate if it was a team other than the Eagles perfecting it. The guys agree with Barkley, and take the opportunity to discuss how much of a difference banning the play would even make.
Jonas Knox: "Philly is in a place right now where they know they're the champs, and they're gonna let everybody know it. I think next year they're gonna go out of their way to make an example of people with this play... They open up the season against the Cowboys. It wouldn't surprise me if the first chance they get, first down, they just run the tush push on the first play of the season... They know they might be on borrowed time with this play, so while they've got it, go ahead and stick it to everybody for as long as they can."
LaVar Arrington: "And here's the other thing -- you can't limit the Philadelphia Eagles to just being one play. They just won the Super Bowl, people! They're so deep with talent... looking at them, it's crazy to think that most of these guys are on rookie contracts. Having the ability to grow your team [with that flexibility is a huge advantage]... The storyline is so much bigger than just one play with Philadelphia. The people who have an issue with this play, it almost feels like they just have an issue with the Eagles."
