Colin Cowherd: The Lakers Are an Overrated Number One Seed in the West

Colin Cowherd: “The Lakers are a number one seed but there is a misconception on how impressive that was this regular season. YES the West is better, YES it’s loaded, YES it’s deeper, but everybody outside the Lakers felt like they were in this weird transition and they dealt with injuries... NOW it’s the Lakers that have a huge issue. Rondo is out for another month, Bradley is out for the Bubble, and now you’re asking Alex Caruso to step up. I had two scouts texting me last night during the Lakers game saying ‘Gosh, this Lakers team misses Avery Bradley! They’re old! They’re slow!’ Chris Paul is 35 and looked like the youngest guy and best player on the floor… This is not your typical number one seed in the West… One of those scouts told me that the Lakers are not getting to the Western Conference Finals – they can’t hit three’s and they can’t defend them. It’s not that they’re not good, and it’s not that LeBron and AD haven’t worked well together, but this is a very limited team, and the number one seed isn’t as impressive than in previous years.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he thinks the Los Angeles Lakers are an overrated number one seed in the West, despite the team having already clinched the best record in the West at 51-16, and a full six games above the second place Clippers.

Check out the video above as Colin details why he doesn’t even think the Lakers will reach the Western Conference Finals.
