Rob Parker: Lions Needs to Trade Matthew Stafford and Draft Tua Tagovailoa

College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Capital One Orange Bowl - Alabama v Oklahoma
Rob Parker: “Stop with the Matthew Stafford stuff. Eleven years and no playoff wins! He was the first overall pick, it’s not that hard! The Lions have won ONE playoff game since 1957. The fans in Detroit are delusional and so beat down and haven’t won anything that they think he’s something special because he allows them to be 7-9 every year. The Lions have never gone out and taken a chance on a special talent. GO GET TUA AND MOVE ON. Bob Quinn the GM can’t keep doing the same thing, and they’ve already run three Hall of Famers (Barry Sanders, Calvin Johnson, Ndamukong Suh) out of town. I would 100% roll the dice on Tua.” (Full Audio at Bottom of Page)

Listen to Rob Parker join The Herd to explain why he thinks the Detroit Lions need to part ways with longtime veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford, and draft Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa with the number three overall pick in the upcoming 2020 NFL Draft.

Despite Stafford being one of the most respected quarterbacks in the league from simply a raw talent standpoint, the 32-year-old former number one overall pick is just 69-79-1 as a starter in Detroit, with zero postseason wins in 3 tries.

Detroit as a franchise hasn’t won a playoff game since 1991, and has one playoff win since 1957.

Check out the audio below as both Rob and Colin Cowherd detail why Tua makes the most sense going to the Lions at 3, for a franchise who would finally be turning the page on a perennial underachiever like Stafford.
