2 Pros and a Cup of Joe featuring Jonas Knox, Brady Quinn and LaVar Arrington fill-in on The Dan Patrick Show and they wake up to the news that the Pittsburgh Steelers have finally re-signed TJ Watt, and for a record setting deal for a non-QB in the NFL. The only question that remains is how much more Jerry Jones will now pay to keep Micah Parsons in Dallas?
LaVar Arrington: “I wouldn’t be surprised if Micah Parsons’ deal drops today or like in the next couple days. Today, tomorrow, Monday, I wouldn’t be surprised.”
Brady Quinn: “They were waiting on TJ (Watt) then, is what you’re saying?”
LaVar: “I believe so…And I stand, ten toes down on the fact…”
Brady: “Ten toes!”
LaVar: “…That Micah Parsons is not looking for a contract. The contract is coming to him. And Jerry Jones was most certainly, most likely waiting for TJ Watt to get his deal done. And I don’t think that Jerry Jones would want it to be out there that the Pittsburgh Steelers did a better deal with TJ Watt than he did with Micah Parsons knowing the conversations and the players, as we mentioned, that you have to make comparisons to as it applies to Micah Parsons. I stand on that!”
Jonas Knox: “I don’t think it bothers him if ends up paying more than he could have two months prior. I don’t think it bothers him at all. I’ve always thought it’s like a fashionably-late tax. Like, he’s OK with it.”
